About Me

My name is Emily Carr. I am a math teacher at Farmington Senior High School. I am currently working on my 5th year of teaching 9th grade Algebra 1. I taught for three years at Potosi R-3 and am now working on my 2nd year at Farmington R-7. I have been the teacher for a few years now; now it's my turn to be the student again. I have gone back to school to further my education by getting my Masters in Education Technology.
"Internet in Education" is the first class I am taking to work on my degree. I was asked the first week of school how I use internet on a day to day basis. I use the Internet a lot for lesson planning and coming up with ideas for teaching. I have found several awesome blogs that have helped me develop creative lesson plans to implement in the classroom. This year I am working on creating a website to help students and parents stay up to date with what is going on in my class. It's a work in progress, but should be useful when it is finished. I was never excited about creating something on the web before, but since starting to create something that can be so useful for students and parents, it has made me super excited.
Besides working on getting my masters, I have a 3 month old daughter that keeps me plenty busy. She is my pride and joy and what I look forward to after a hard day at work. I also love to work on crafts. I am an avid user of Pinterest. You can say I have a "Pinterest house".  I also love to spend time outdoors. My husband and I have gone on several hikes in Missouri and Colorado and plan on making a trip back out west to hike some more.
